Splash Proof Fans can be used in environments exposed to water. They are suitable for cooling PV inverters and other devices installed outdoors.

Water and Dust Resistance for Outdoor Devices
These fans achieve excellent IP68, IP55, or IP54 water and dust protection.
Note: The degree of protection (IP code) is defined by IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) 60529 as below.
IP54:
・Protection against a level of dust that could hinder operation or impair safety
・Protection against splashing water
IP55:
・Protection against a level of dust that could hinder operation or impair safety
・Protection against low pressure water jets
IP68:
・Complete protection against dust
・Protection against submersion in water
IPX8 Requirements:
When the power is off, the fan is submerged in water pressurized to the equivalent of 2 meters for 60 minutes.
Then it's run for 15 minutes at the rated voltage in free-air. During the test, there shall be no reduction in dielectric strength or fan characteristics.
Long Life with 180,000 Hours of Maintenance-Free Operation
These fans also have long expected lives of up to 180,000 hours without maintenance.* They demonstrates excellent durability even in harsh environments.

Control and Sensor Options Available for Various Applications
For PWM control compatible models, remote control of fan speed in response to device conditions is possible. This realizes reduced power consumption and noise level.
We also have models with various sensors available including a pulse sensor for detecting fan speed and locked-rotor sensor for detecting the rotation stop of a fan.
